IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Difficult for him. He is an emotionally stunted disaster and very awkward when it comes to touch; hugs are always initiated by other characters and usually have him freeze up in surprise. More of an arm pat guy.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yes! Ngl, I'm always here for a good fight or some cheap whump
RELATIONSHIPS: Also difficult. He's divorced and that clearly left some scars. He also seems to struggle with letting people get close to him.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: John is a soldier with lots of repressed trauma who has seen a lot of action both on Earth and in space. There's a lot of darkness lurking inside - canonically, the thing he is afraid of the most is himself and what he is capable of. Most of his flippant attitude and humor responses are a defense mechanism because he's bad when it comes to talking about his feelings. There's also heaps of self-loathing and it is stated that he 'tortures himself every day', so, enjoy that if you want to venture in there.
He doesn't have any psychic powers but he possesses an Ancient gene that allows him to use alien technology with his mind. Canonically, he has a very strong will and psychic resistance with creatures trying to control or infiltrate his mind commenting how difficult it is. Open to have his mind read/memories seen/etc though!
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Your average standard human. No magic in his body. He possesses a gene that lets him use Ancient technology which is maybe sort of magical?
MEDICAL INFORMATION: He got bitten once by an iratus bug, a big alien creature that attached to his neck. He's got a scar from that and some leftover iratus DNA that once caused him to mutate into a buglike creature (though he looked more like someone's dragon OC). John also has a big feeding scar on his chest when he was fed upon by a Wraith, a sort of alien vampire species that drains a human's life force with their clawed hand.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: For John, that would be bugs. He won't run from them and there is no visible phobia but having to deal with them will really ruin his day. He really, really hates bugs.
As for John as a character, he is from an early 2000s canon that sometimes has the usual questionable humor on sexism and LGBTQ issues. John also has a very imperialistic worldview i.e. being convinced that his expedition coming to the Pegasus galaxy and helping the 'less advanced' planets fight against the Wraith is their prerogative. They also do some pretty heinous things that can be classified as war crimes, such as torturing and killing a prisoner or bombing an experimentation site where they try to turn the Wraith into humans. Triggers include murder, violence, war, war crimes, anxiety and PTSD, hallucinations, gaslighting, torture, medical experimentation, body horror, cannibalism of sentient species by draining life (Wraith to human)

DEMEANOUR: Likes to come across as easy-going and playful. Slouches a lot and pretends to be lazy; has a boyish appearance and a flippant attitude. There's always a comment ready, except he's not cool like your usual snarkers. Bit of an idiot. Gets distracted by tangents in conversation and is prone to get roped into bickering, often matching another person's energy. He has a very expressive face that shows a lot of emotion - especially when he's confused or irritated. That attitude switches completely when he gets serious - he becomes very calm and predatory with a slack expression and a very intense demeanor, his voice turning very quiet and growly.
